Keep in mind that while the the re-issue contains 20 extra minutes of music, none of the bonus tracks are new material, rather they are just new mixes by Randy Burns. Peace Sells But Who's Buying is definitely among Megadeth's better albums. There isn't much to be disappointed about, save for perhaps the length/5. Reply

Arguably Megadeth's strongest effort and a classic of early thrash, Peace Sells combines a punkish political awareness with a dark, threatening, typically heavy metal world-view, preoccupied with evil, the occult, and the like. The anthemic title track and "Wake Up Dead" are the two major standouts, and there is also a cover of Willie Dixon's "I Ain't Superstitious," which takes on an air of 9/ Reply

General CommentGuys, the meaning of this song is pretty straightforward. Even the title and ending lyrics "Peace sells, but who's buying?" can be an interpretation of the entire song. PEACE SELLS - Capitalism (Democracy, the USA Government) sells Peace, BUT WHO'S BUYING? - The POOR and middle class are the one's buying what the rich is selling. Reply

Aug 14,  · The title track's pulsing bass intro, Mustaine's harangue about the American way and the lightning quick guitars made "Peace" a landmark of the thrash movement. Reply

With rising interest in heavy metal happening during this period, “Peace Sells But Who’s Buying” is a record that was in the right place at the right time for a group that would be settling down to record albums for that glowing stack of records on the corner of Hollywood and Vine for a good long while.
